Here are the results of this week's leadership scan. Last week I pointed out the drop in volume over the last year, particularly among long term leading stocks. This week I calculated the average 20 day and 60 fay volume per million shares floating for my entire database, and came up with 9.6k and 9.8k respectively, as opposed to between 13k and 14k I got when I calculated it over a year ago. What is really troubling is that the 20 day volume here should no longer be affected by holiday trading, but is still lower than 60 day volume. I have lowered the volume standard here down to 12k, although without lowering it at all I would have had 12 stocks, but I want to catch all the leaders that are getting higher than average volume. As usual I will be tracking these daily next week.
