There are few leading industries on either list, meaning it is the crap leading the charge today. Gold, as expected, is making a big move up on the FOMC annopuncement, and the gold stocks are following along. Gold stocks have, for the last couple of years, woefully underperformed bullion, and are now among the weakest in the market. To paraphrase the Beatles, they have to get better because they can't get much worse, and I think we are seeing that today. How long this lasts I don't know, but if bullion keeps rising, so will these.
